Overview
In OpenPlant Modeler, to save BOM template for Multiple Component selection.
Problem Description
User requirement was to save the multiple component query report to enable them to use it on other projects. As per requirement of the project, different combination of classes may be used to query the report to get the specific property field in the report. Hence modeler desire is to save the query and user it for future projects or to utilize it in different projects or the projects possess different units of measurement (UOM). See steps to resolve the issue.
Steps to Resolve
- Launch OpenPlant Modeler, Select Project unit. Say Metric here.
- Go to OpenPlant Modeler>Tools>Item Reports.
- From Piping>Piping Component, select BOM type BOM by Line Number.
- Right click on it, Select ‘Edit’.
- Click on browse option for Querying.
- Select multiple component and hit “save” like shown in below image.
- Give some logical name to recognize the type of report.
- Launch another project with a different unit.
- Reuse same saved file using open option.
