Problem:

How AutoPIPE Vessel calculates the shell length at the time of Heat Exchanger Design ?

Solution:

The length of the shell to be input includes the straight flange of heads, the height of flanges and the tubesheets.
The actual lengths are calculated by the program to take into account any changes about the thickness of flanges or tube sheets without changing the total length of the vessel.
Regarding Tubes, you must input the total length of tubes according to the tube-to-tubesheet joint.
The program will calculate the distance between tube sheets to take into account any changes about the thickness of tube sheets.
