Issue

Load fails in Inventory Loader (Part 1) when loading inventory file that was exported from MapCapture using "RMMS Inventory" export type. Spooled Output gives "Errors Detected during format checking". In the .lis following errors for every line of the inventory file are displayed:

ERROR: X Section - Less than 1 characters BPR-8041

ERROR: X Section - Invalid character BPR-8042

Having checked inventory file that is being loaded I can see that type B record is missing in the file.

Steps to Resolve

This is due to incorrect MapCapture configuration. ‘Network Id’ and the ‘Unique’ field definitions in corresponding Asset Data Layers should match those in your network layer. See more detailed explanation below.

  1. Right click on the network in the tree on the left -> Theme Properties -> Field Definitions. You should check the values for ‘Network ID’ and ‘Unique’. In this example it is RSE_HE_ID and RSE_UNIQUE correspondingly. These are the fields in your shape file that define the network unique id and section details.

  2. Right click on ‘Assets’ in the tree on the left -> Add Theme Wizard -> Add Theme Wizard. Choose corresponding asset type in the list on the left of the pop-up box that appears (as below). The ‘Network Id’ and ‘Unique’ fields on the right should refer to the corresponding fields in the shape file (as described in step 1).
