Some of the files contained in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Config directory can be inserted in the 2D drawings – PVstandard.doc , Vesselnote.doc , and Dwgnot.doc.

Every note file has a block name – STAN01, NOTE01, and GENE01.

Moving a File to Production

If you change any of the .doc files, you must move the files to production:

1.       Start AutoPIPE Vessel.

2.       Select Execute > Manage Customization Files to display the Customizable Files Management dialog.

3.       Within the Documents group-box, press Choose File to select the changed .doc file.

4.       Press Move to Production  to move the selected file to production (an .emsd file is created).

Inserting a Note File for a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger

1.       Start AutoPIPE Vessel.

2.       Select Execute > Manage Customization Files to display the Customizable Files Management dialog.

3.       Press Set Drawing layout and move to production to display the Set Drawing Layout dialog.

4.       Select File > Open to display the Open a view file dialog.

5.       Navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Config\ Vueaux.emav file, then press Open.

6.       Press Sheet layout to display the Sheet Layout dialog.

7.       Select the following values:

8.       Press Add sheet, then press OK.

9.       Select STAN01 from the Header block name drop-down pick-list, then press Add to Set.

10.   Position the STAN01 view into the new sheet using the mouse. 

11.   Select the STAN01 view, then press View characteristics to display the View characteristics dialog.

12.   Change the X origin point to 190, then change the Y origin point to 83.

13.   Change the X size to 200, then change the Y size to 75.

14.   Press OK

15.   Select NOTE01 from the Header block name drop-down pick-list, then press Add to Set.

16.   Position the NOTE01 view into the new sheet using the mouse.

17.   Select GENE01 from the Header block name drop-down pick-list, then press Add to Set.

18.   Position the NOTE01 view into the new sheet using the mouse.

19.   Position the GENE01 view into the new sheet using the mouse.

20.   Select File > Save.

21.   In AutoPIPE Vessel, open the C:\Users\Public\Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Examples\VesselData\Horizontal\aet ASME VIII div1.emvd data file.

22.   Select Execute > Generate Drawing to display the Drawing dialog.

23.   Select A0 from the Format drop-down pick-list.

24.   Press OK.

25.   Open the C:\Users\Public\Documents\AutoPIPE Vessel\Examples\VesselData\Horizontal\aet ASME VIII div1.dgn drawing.

26.   Select the FORMAT_005 model.
