Getting tired of having to reset your user preferences after you've deleted your UPF file? If so, then utilize MS_USERPREFSEED.

Here's how:

Set up your preferences the way you like them.
Copy that UPF file to a different location.
[Optional] Change the extension to SPF.
Finally, point MS_USERPREFSEED to this new file.

The next time you delete your UPF, MicroStation will create a new one based on the seed file above.

If you want MicroStation to create a new UPF from from MS_USERPREFSEED, then set MS_ALWAYS_CREATE_UPF = 1
