Problem:
How to transition between 2 different shell sizes?
Can a Jacket Closure be used?
Solution:
A jacket closure cannot be used in this case, this connection component must be designed as per “ASME VIII Div.1 Appendix 14” (Integral flat heads with a large, single, circular, centrally located opening).
This calculation can be performed with AutoPIPE Vessel but in a separated model, for now. This matches to a flat head with an opening.
A new enhancement (890185) has been logged to add a connection component as per ASME Appendix 14 in the shell of a heat exchanger.
