Problem:

User with Administration right to the computer is attempting to install AutoPIPE, while going through the license agreements and about 3 Nexts screens the installation suddenly fails.

After the installation abort, the following was found in the error log file:

Could not create system restore point, error: 0x80070005...

Why is this happening and how to Avoid it?

Solution:

This is a permissions issue.

AutoPIPE should be installed by person who has full permissions to the %ProgramData% folder. Contact your IT department and ask that they confirm / update your computer permissions for Everyone, System, Administrators, and User as needed. In addition, add Administrators group to ACL and granted them full control may help your issue.

Specifically, check the ACLs of "%ProgramData%\Package Cache" and make sure,

1. The directory is readable and writable by Administrators

2. The directory is readable and writable by SYSTEM

3. Directory permissions are inherited on child objects

4. The directory is owned by Administrators

After permissions have been changed, try to right click on the installer file and select Run as Administrator
