Error or Warning Message

Error 27500. This setup requires Internet Information Server 4.0 or higher for configuring IIS Virtual Roots. Please make sure that you have IIS 4.0 or higher.

Explanation

User is deploying Publisher on test box and the virtual folders for example, msexamples, etc are not showing up in the website in IIS.  Additionally when he goes to uninstall he is getting an error "Error 27500. This setup requires
Internet Information Server 4.0 or higher for configuring IIS Virtual Roots. Please make sure that you have IIS 4.0 or higher."

Once you deploy Publisher to the default website it gets hooked. So even if you uninstall it will not remove all folders from this website and will always deploy to the default even if you choose a different site.

How to Avoid

Remove Publisher and click okay to any error message

In IIS, expand the default website and delete all folders except aspnet_client,

Expand the created website and deleted all folders except aspnet_client.

Restarted IIS

Reinstall publisher choosing the website you created

In IIS check to make sure the msexamples and other folders have been created in the correct website.
