- What information is being passed between an organization’s ProjectWise Design Integration Server and Bentley User Management (IMS)?
The ProjectWise Design Integration (PWDI) server communicates with IMS upon user login to retrieve user information such as IMS organization groups, roles and membership. No user data, including email or password, is ever sent from ProjectWise DI server to IMS.
User IMS authentication for PW Explorer is an exchange between the CONNECTION Client and IMS.
- What sites need to be whitelisted to enable IMS authentication in ProjectWise Explorer?
ProjectWise Explorer relies on the CONNECTION Client for IMS authentication. These are the sites that the CONNECTION Client and ProjectWise require to be whitelisted. ims.bentley.com – Authenticates a user to utilize Bentley online services.
- connect-agreement.bentley.com – Confirms whether a user has accepted the EULA (License Agreement) yet.
- What sites need to be whitelisted to enable IMS authentication in ProjectWise Web?
PW Web does not rely on CONNECTION Client for authentication. These are the sites ProjectWise Web requires to be whitelisted.
- bentley.com – Provides access to your connected projects
- waz-search.bentley.com – Provides user profile data and notifications (future to use RBAC)
- connect-agreement.bentley.com – Confirms whether a user has accepted the EULA yet
- What sites need to be whitelisted for other functionality (not IMS authentication)?
- bentley.com – Provides current URLs for services so that addresses need not be hard- coded into client products
- connect-wsg20.bentley.com – Provides list of organization’s projects, favorite projects, most recently accessed projects and assets. Used when associating a work area to a project.
- bentley.com – Provides notifications for desktop product updates. This notification service is not supported by ProjectWise Explorer.
- connect-ulastm.bentley.com – Used for SES licensing
- connect-contextregistry.bentley.com – Used for billing settings and invitations
