Problem:

How are the pipe properties (ex.Actual OD, Corrosion Allow, Mill tol., etc..) used in analysis calculations?

Solution:

For ISO14692, the outer diameter is reduced by corrosion (provided Use nominal thickness box in the Result Model Options is unchecked), and the inner diameter is not reduced by corrosion ever. The reduced mean diameter is used to calculate the longitudinal pressure stress (DIN + T, where T is the thickness minus the corrosion).

The bending stress uses the reduced outside diameter, (DIN + 2T, where T is the thickness minus the corrosion). The reduced outer diameter is used to calculate the moment of inertia, which is also used in the bending stress calculations.
