2024.01.80.0
Released 2024-03-05
Enhancements:
- Long Path Handling Improvements: We've made several updates to better handle long file paths, including preventing uploads and reads of files if the path exceeds 256 characters, and improving warning notifications for these instances.
- Windows 11 Context Menu Integration: Our context menu items are now more prominently displayed in Windows 11, making it easier to access PW Drive functions.
- UI Refresh and Front-end Upgrades: We've updated the UI and upgraded front-end dependencies for a fresher look and feel.
Bug Fixes:
- User-Reported Issues: Fixed various bugs impacting AutoCAD integration, file synchronization, and context menu visibility. Notable fixes include:
- Temporary files from AutoCAD and other applications no longer being uploaded to the cloud.
- Issues with automatic file uploads not working until Drive is restarted.
- The problem where files didn't open in desktop applications after being replaced.
- Fixes for issues reported by our users, including icon discrepancies, folder refresh state issues.
- Resolved intermittent file upload failures, crashes related to file renaming, and potential vulnerabilities for a more secure environment.
- WSG and Performance Optimizations: Addressed WSG URL handling, improved database performance through optimized indexes, and reduced unnecessary WSG requests.
- Stability and Data Integrity: Enhanced stability during unsync operations and implemented measures to prevent data loss, including a retry mechanism for auto-check-in and safeguards against opening files when auto-checkout fails. To prevent issues with duplicating folders upon re-sync, Drive aims to not rename root folders if possible.

Also, documents checked out via Drive on one computer will be editable on all other computers with Drive where this user is logged in. Note that changes made locally in one computer will not be automatically moved to another, so users must take precautions to work on a file only in one location.
