Unable to Delete project.

Product(s) and Version(s): ProjectWise 365 portal

Problem:

When trying to delete a project on the ProjectWise 365 portal, the following error appears,

Unable to Delete project. You do not have sufficient permission to delete project. Please contact your organization or project administrator.

Solution:

To delete a project, you must have created the project or have any one of the following roles in the User Management portal:

To check the permissions assigned to your user account on the User Management portal, please follow the steps given below-

  1. Open the link, https://usermanagement.bentley.com/profile. The available roles should be listed towards the right-hand side of the screen as shown in the screenshot below,

  2. Scroll down the page to view the Account Administrators of your organization. These Account Administrators can modify the roles of other users in the organization.

The following Wiki link gives more information on the available roles,

https://bentleysystems.service-now.com/community?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0018610

Please have the Account Administrator or co-administrator of your organization assign any additional role to your user account by following the steps given in the following link,

https://bentleysystems.service-now.com/community?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0018948

If you already have the required role but are still receiving the same error while trying to delete the project, the project concerned may not belong to your organization. You can verify this by following the steps given below-

  1. Open connect.bentley.com and click on Projects.

  2. Projects which do not belong to your organization will have EXTERNAL tagged against them.

In such cases, if you have access to Manage Members on the project, you can remove your account from the project so you will no longer see the project. Alternatively, you can ask the project owner or a project administrator to remove your account from the project.
