Common errors using Joint Mesher

in this post, we will try to list all common errors at the moment to to work with the Joint Mesher tool,

Case 1

Hello Bentley, I have a problem modeling joint meshes I', getting an error message like this

*** ERROR CREATING LOOP 6 OF 12 FOR MEMBER NUMBER 1 (2005-6545)

Joint not meshed successfully

* ERROR - An error occurred during loop decomposition

Can anyone help me with what this problem is caused by?

Solution:

JointMesher currently works, first creating what we call flattened loops, these loops are basically the points on the boundary of different planes that then get meshed and stitched together to create the mesh, this error means that the software failed to create a loop for a certain surface of that the member mentioned in the error.

If you are facing this issue please don't doubt to create a service case and share your files for our review

Case 2

I am extensively using the SACS node mesh generator for a series of tests and noticed that in certain cases it fails to generate the mesh, even if all data appear to be correct till the last digit. I already checked and re-checked the input data, sometimes restarting from scratch, inverting the lines direction, etc, but SACS always finds something wrong. the error is the next

 Solution:
The issue has to do with the intersection of straight lines and curves. When there's a line that's almost tangential to an arc, our intersection algorithm sometimes detects an intersection near where the two meet and, that derails the rest of the algorithm. The best practice is to split the surface where the tangent lines meet an arc into separate plates.
