Community Question:

Hello Bentley I would like to know How can I import to SACS and which format could be supported?

Answer:

The only way to import models created in other software is by the creation of an ISM repository, the ISM was thought to provide an interoperative between structural software, so, if you wish to import any model from other software you need to ensure first that the format provided by the original software is compatible to ISM repository.

What is ISM?

Bentley's Integrated Structural Modeling (ISM ) is a technology for sharing structural engineering project information among structural modeling, analysis, design, drafting, and detailing applications. ISM is similar to Building Information Modeling (BIM) but focuses on the information that is important in the design, construction, and modification of the load-bearing components of buildings, bridges, and other structures.

Below is presented a scheme that shows us the format supported for ISM

In the concept of "Industry Standard" importation, iTwin supports some software able to create files with extension IFC such as Smarplant, Open-plant, and PDM / E3D
