What is the difference in transfer function between when generated in Wave Response and generated in Fatigue?
Wave Response can generate transfer function plots for internal member forces. However, these transfer function forces will not usually match the transfer functions reported in Fatigue. Wave Response takes mode shape input and wave loading and calculates modal responses. It is typically used to generate equivalent static loads an output OCI file. Wave Response does not have access to the solution of the equivalent static load model so it must calculate the internal forces from the modal responses. Fatigue reads the common solution file, so it calculates its internal forces from the solution of the equivalent static load model. Therefore, these programs are using two different approaches to calculating the internal forces and some difference should be expected.
