Problem

When choosing Maxsurf Advanced license, it says that the trial period has expired.

Solution

Effective April 1, 2023, important changes were made to the way Maxsurf and Multiframe are licensed. An overview of these changes is provided below.

There has been some product consolidation in Bentley Offshore. Maxsurf is now a single product under the MOSES brand.

There is now only a single tier of Maxsurf which contains all the functionality. Because of the way the licensing is implemented, this single tier of Maxsurf uses the same productID (2143) as the (now retired) MAXSURF Ultimate. The productID 2142 (which was previously known as MAXSURF Advanced) is now retired.

The new consolidated Maxsurf costs (for 2023) about 6% more than the old MAXSURF Advanced license did in 2022; and is exempt from Bentleys annual increases for 2023 which are around 7% for most products.

We are in the process of updating the software so that it is not necessary to select a license (the productID 2143 will automatically be used) and we hope to have this version (Maxsurf 2023) released in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, with older versions of Maxsurf, eg 23.06, users should now use the license for productID 2143 by selecting “MAXSURF Ultimate” from the license dialog.
