Select the version number from the dropdown menu and press the “Download” link. NOTE: The SACS installer contains ALL available modules and features. These features are accessible through the Entitlement Service. All modules have a trial period of seven days.
INSTALL FROM DOWNLOADED FILES
1. To install Bentley applications, ensure you have logged in to the computer with an account that has full administrative privileges. If you are unable to log in with a suitable account, then contact your network administrator to login and perform the installation.
2. All download files from above should be placed onto the computer where the application(s) are to be installed; suggest the desktop or create a folder to copy the files to. Use ‘My Computer’ to browse to downloaded files and double click on the file *.exe file to start the installation. Continue to the next section.
INSTALL BENTLEY SACS CONNECT EDITION V16.01 -(SES)
Note The application should not be installed from a network location; suggest that the EXE files are on the user’s system before starting the installation.
SACS CONNECT Edition V16.01-(SES) can be run side-by-side with all previous versions of SACS. Close all other applications currently running and then navigate to the EXE file downloaded using the procedure above and double click on it to start the installation process.
1. Nothing will appear while the installer is starting up. In a short time, the following will appear. Read the License Agreement and accepted by pressing selecting the highlighted checkbox. Click the “Install” button to proceed to install the pre-requisites.
2. After the pre-requisites are installed, the SACS installation will be launched. Click “Next” to continue.
3. Select the “SACS Installation Type”
SACS® may be installed as a local system or as a networked system.
Local Installation: A Local Installation is a system where the SACS® suite is located on the local computer and is only available for use on that computer.
Network System : A Network system is a system available for use by any computer attached to the local area network. The SACS® programs may be located on the network server or on the local computer.
4. Specify the destination of the selected components. The Local Folder pertains to any components and configuration files required on the local machine, while the Program folder pertains to the location of the SACS® program modules and other system files. The Online Manuals Folder specifies the location of the online documentation files.
NOTE: For Bentley Analysis Grid Service options and setup see item #6.
5. Bentley Analysis Grid Service
Bentley Analysis Grid Service is included in the SACS 15.1 installer and will be installed by default. The user is able to exclude this portion of the installation however by unselecting the feature in the installed feature list.
Next, you can specify the ports that will be used by the service on your network. New firewall rules will be created so that these ports will be allowed to operate the services on the network.
6. When installation is complete, 3 new inbound rules are added to the system, allowing communication on the selected ports:
Bentley Analysis Grid Service is installed to Windows Services on the system. This service enables this computer to function as a grid node in the grid services framework.
Also installed will be the Bentley Analysis Service Console which will display the service status and allow user to stop and start the service. Also change settings regarding ports and local execution directory as well as current activity being performed by the service.

7. Prior to installing the SACS® program modules, the setup program checks your system configuration and shows current installation settings. Click the Back button to change settings or the Next button to start copying files.
8. The setup program can configure default settings for analysis units, section library and joint coordinate method.
