Attaching a command menu - User needs to attach a command
menu to the digitizer to more quickly access MicroStation tools
and commands.
Version: 08.05.01.25
Product: MicroStation V8 2004 Edition
Area: Hardware / Input Devices
User will need the following things:
Digitizer Tablet attached to computer with proper drivers installed.
Cell library containing the desired menu.
Printout of the menu taped down to the desired location on the
digitizer tablet.
To attach:
1. Open MicroStation and activate the key in browser.
2. Key-in appropriate AM command. On Bentley's delivered
menus, the command is printed on the menu itself.
In J, the syntax goes like this:
AM=,cm
For instance, the delivered menu called 55menu would be
attached with this command:
AM=55menu,cm
In V8, the standard delivered menu is attached with this
command:
AM=V8menu,command,t1
When the Enter button is pressed, the user will be prompted
to enter the lower left and upper right corner of the menu.
This sets the digitizer coordinates for each command. Once the
upper right corner is entered, the message "menu successfully
attached" should appear.
3. Configure a "command" button on the digitizer puck. After
deciding what button to use, set it in the driver's button
assignment window to "Application Defined Function". Then go
into Workspace > Button Assignments in MicroStation, click the
"command" line to highlight it, put the screen cursor in the Button
Definition Area at the bottom of the dialog and press the button
previously picked.
4. Place the crosshairs of the cursor over the desired command
on the menu and press the command button. The tool selected
should appear on the screen.
