Problem Description

Having set the Level Override colour of a level containing dimensions and I apply the View Attribute switch ' Level Overrides ' the colour of the dimensions is not changing.

The reason for this is the dimensions not affected had been placed with the ' Override Level Symbology ' setting turned on in the Dimension Styles dialog.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Use the Match Dimension Attributes tool and select one of the affected dimensions.
  2. Open the Dimension Styles dialog and select the dimension Style:(none)
  3. On the Advanced Tab expand the tree General > Placement  and uncheck the ' Override Level Symbology ' option.
  4. Select all the affected placed dimensions using the Element Selection or Edit > Select By Attribute tools.
  5. Use the Change Dimension tool to change the selected dimensions.

Note: If the dimensions in question had been placed using a particular Dimension Style then this style can be edited and saved, thus probagating the change to all dimensions placed with that style.
