Problem

New dimensions are missing
Dimensions are stored in an undesired level which is not displayed

Solution

Change level in the Dimension Styles settings
Open "Dimension Styles" toolbox > Advanced > General > Placement > Level
If a level without brackets is set this level is fixed for new dimensions.
Only if a level with brackets e.g. (Default) is set the dimensions will be placed on the active level.
