Problem
Irregular spacing in custom linestyles
When placing elements with a custom linestyle, sometimes the pattern in the linestyle seems to be broken, irregular round the vertices in the element. It is possible to shift the linestyle, but this may not solve the irregularities.
Solution
Much depends on the linestyle definition
Spacing in a custom linestyle, especially round the vertices in an element, depend very much on the definition of the linestyle.
Some guidelines:
- The option Single Segment under Stroke Pattern Attributes must be OFF for the Stroke Component. If it's on then the pattern is restarted with every segment of an element.
- The option for the Corners should be set to Break for the Stroke Pattern. Otherwise the distances between dashes/symbols may seem uneven.
- The option Clip Partial for the Point Component can be turned OFF to ensure all symbols are displayed either completely or not at all.
- The option Centered for the Shift under Stroke Pattern Attributes always works per segment, independent from the setting for Single Segment. Using this will result in uneven spacing between dashes/symbols. (This option in only available for DWG compatibility)
