MicroStation crashes when performing view control operations or when rendering.
Product: MicroStation J
Version: 07.00.00.37
Area: Visualization
This is often a case of bad Type 66 terminal control block or Type 66 extended terminal control block elements corrupting the file . These elements are used to (among other things) save view information when you close a design file, so that when you open the file back up, the views are as you left them. They can become corrupt for various reasons, including corrupt elements in the design file. For this reason it is always a good idea to check the file with EdG when these errors occur.
You can't repair corrupt Type 66 terminal block and extended tcb elements in MicroStation or with EdG, but you can delete them. In the Key-in dialog, key in the following:
delete 66elements exttcb
or
delete 66elements tcb
Then close and reopen the file. Before closing the file, toggle Save Settings on Exit OFF under the Operation tab of the Workspace > Preferences dialog box, otherwise MicroStation will recreate the (corrupt) elements when saving the design file settings when closing the file.
