Background

Attaching new Raster  will not display  ECW file format with the Default File Type set to “Common Raster Formats” just after changing Default File Type set to “Common Geo Referenced Raster Formats”.

 

Steps to Accomplish

To customize the format there are two MicroStation configuration variables that will provide the requested capability. You can insert any file format that you please so that the filenames display in the Attach Raster Reference (file open) dialog:

Note:

The normal behavior would have been to only show “Supported Raster Formats” but that was not possible because of a “Windows” limitation so these two entries were created (“common Raster Formats” and “Common Geo Ref Raster Formats”).

The way to specify the files to list is simple, we need to set a string that looks like that: “*.tiff,*.itiff,*.jpg…” and send it to the file browser but this string has a limited number of characters and we support a lot more formats than the string can handle.

We have therefore decided to create two entries with the most used un-georeferenced and georeferenced formats.
