The Find/Replace text tool will not replace Enter Data Fields with more characters than the Enter Data Field contains

Explanation

This tool worked differently in versions like V8 2004 and V8i, where, for example, if an Enter Data Field (EDF) contained 3 characters and it was desired to replace those 3 characters with 5 characters, the Find/Replace text tool would do this. However, this functionality led to complications so the tool was rewritten. The Find/Replace Text tool now operates either completely inside the Enter Data Field or completely outside. So, if theReplace field of the Find/Replace Text tool has more characters than the Enter Data Field contains, those additional characters will be cut off or omitted. Enter Data Fields were designed to be fixed length place holders.
