Error or Warning Message

"Place 3D Warehouse cell failed" (shown in image 1)  and in Message Center: "There was an error reading/processing the temporary DGN file" (shown in image 2)
If Model is imported: "[C:\User\.....example.skp] format version not supported" (shown in image 3)

Explanation

Error message is returned when attempting to place a cell from Google 3D Warehouse. This could happen if the version of the SketchUp (.skp) file/model is newer than the version supported by the MicroStation version in use. For example, if a SketchUp 8 file/model is attempted to be placed using MicroStation V8i SELECTseries 2, the error message will appear

How to Avoid

1. Upgrade to the latest version of MicroStation to avail of latest compatibility
2. Search for a file/model that uses a SketchUp format that is supported by the version of MicroStation in use
3. Alternatively, if the SketchUp programme itself is available, the model could be downloaded to the computer, opened in SketchUp and saved to an older format of .skp.
