Problem:

Can the units of measurements be changed when creating a Time History Analysis TIH or THL file in AutoPIPE?

Example:

Existing data pairs are provided with Time in milliseconds, must the TIH file use Time in seconds or can use time in milliseconds?

Solution:

 From AutoPIPE Help:

The unit system for the TIH file is always in AUTOPIPE (English) units, regardless of the input unit system of the model that this file was created under, allowing the use of this load file across different models using different unit systems.

With that said, open the ENGLISH.unt file for review. All unit files are located in the program's folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\AutoPIPE CONNECT

Search for ENGLISH.UNT, and open with any text editor (ex. Ultra Edit, Notepad++, MS Word, etc..). Search for row containing "Time" in the 4th column, and then look at the corresponding units in column #1.

In conclusion, both THL and TIH files can only have values in these units mentioned in the Units file, No conversions or different units are allowed.
