People are unique in an SYNCHRO Perform instance, and can be assigned different rates and role across projects. This ensures that duplicating (or re-creating) a Person if they move projects, or start a new project, is not required. However, Equipment and Other Resource types are specific to each project, and cannot be assigned to multiple projects.

Assigning a Resource to a project is called a ‘Resource Assignment’, and is used for People, Equipment and Other Resource types. These allow Resources to be assigned to different companies and roles over time. However, a resource can only have one Resource Assignment at any one time. To support reporting, historic (or prior) Resource Assignments are stored in SYNCHRO Perform.
