Quantity Progress can be captured, edited, and reviewed via a variety of processes in SYNCHRO Perform. This guide describes each option available to Users and how each process records Progress in the system.
Quantity Progress is one of the Earned Value methods for Activities.
Specific projects may have preferred methods to record Progress, depending on work practices or existing business requirements.
To ensure a consistent practice is applied across a project, consult the project’s Site Champion before using a specific process to record Progress.
The Work Inspector provides a detailed overview of Activities and Events, displaying key information regarding Progress, planning dates, and Earned Value metrics. Quantity Progress can also be entered via the Work Inspector.
To filter groups of Activities or Events, click on Filters, enter terms as needed, then click Filter, or search for individual Activities or Events by entering their name in the Search box.
To view or update progress, click on the Progress view in the top-right corner.
Click on the icon in Actual Progress Quantity to open the Add Quantity Progress window for the selected Activity.
If the cell has a icon, it cannot be updated until it has a non-zero budget.
Update one of the following fields as needed: Performance percentage complete, Quantity delta, or Actual progress quantity to date.
Only one field can be updated at a time which affects all fields.
Data in Completion updates automatically.
Add Start and End Chainage, and a Note as needed, and set a Progress Date (defaults to today’s date).
Check Create Comment on Activity Timeline to include the progress comment on the Activity’s timeline.
Click Create to create the progress entry.
An Activity’s Planned and/or Actual dates can be updated and edited via the Work Inspector.
If a cell has no date, click Start, Set, or Finish as needed, then select a date.
If a cell is blank, or coloured red, another Start or End date for the Activity must be updated before it can be edited.
Hover over the cell for information on which cell must be updated.
To edit an existing date, click on the icon, then select a new date.
Progress can be recorded against an individual Activity via the Activity’s page.
Enter filters as needed, then click Filter.
Click on a chosen Activity to open it; Activities can also be selected via the Homepage, an Event’s page, and more.
Click Progress at the top of the Activity’s page, then Add, to open the Add Quantity Progress window.
Alternatively, click on the icon in All Activities to open the Activity’s Progress page directly.

The Quantity Progress Manager shows all Progress entries made to an Activity, and allows individual entries to be edited or removed from the overall record of an Activity’s Progress.

To update daily progress, click the icon next to the Activity to open the Add Quantity Progress window.
