Activities Management

Activities and Events are the two ways labour is defined in SYNCHRO Perform. Broadly speaking, Activities are scheduled work and Events are unplanned work.

Activities

Activities are any planned jobs that need to be done to complete a project. For example, if the project is to build a high-rise tower, the first Activity may be to lay the concrete foundation, while the second Activity may be to install scaffolding, and so on.

Activities can also be grouped according to their Work Categories (such as 'Scope', 'Variation', etc.) , as well as by Discipline and Location to reveal trends in the overall project. Time (Usage) can be recorded against an Activity.

Events

Events are unplanned circumstances, such as equipment failure, bad weather, additional work requests, etc.  An Event must be linked to an Activity and can only link to one Activity. Events can also be grouped according to their Work Category, or their Event Type. Time (Usage) can be recorded against an Event.
