Resource Usage Matrix (Web)


The Resource Usage Matrix is one of several methods to record the usage of People, Equipment,
or Other Resource types on both Activities and Events on a day-by-day basis in SYNCHRO Perform.

  1. Click Time & Usage > Matrix.
  2. Click on Previous Day, Next Day, or the   icon to navigate to different days.
    Defaults to today’s date
  3. To add Resources or Work References, click on the Add button, then click on Add Resources or Add Work References from the dropdown menu.
  4. In the window that opens, click on People, Equipment, or Other, search for a Resource via the filters as needed, select a Resource, then click on Add Selection.
  5. Alternatively, click on Create New… to add a Resource to SYNCHRO Perform and the Matrix, enter its details as needed, then click Create and Add…
  6. When all Resources are added, click Close.
    Follow this process for Add Work References as needed.
  7. Once a Resource has been added, click on its cells in Usage Code, UoM, and Rate Code to set these attributes.
    Note: Check with the project’s Site Champion to confirm these attributes
  8. In the Resource’s cells, enter a Start Time, End Time, and Break Duration as needed, then enter the Usage amounts for its Work References as needed.
    Data entered is automatically saved.
  9. A Resource Note and/or Usage Note can also be added to provide additional context; click on a cell, then click on the Resource Note or Usage Note box and enter text as needed.
    • A Resource Note is a comment about the overall Resource for the day.
    • A Usage Note is a comment about specific usage for that Resource for the day.

Resources and Work References can be removed from the Resource Usage Matrix as needed, however removing a Resource or Work Reference removes them from the Matrix for all days, not just the current  day.

  1. Click on a Resource’s row or Work Reference’s column to highlight it, click the Remove button, then click Remove Resources or Remove Work References from the dropdown menu.
  2. Select Reset Resources and/or Reset Work References to remove all Resources or Work References from the Matrix.
  3. Alternatively, right-click on a Resource or Work Reference and select Remove Resource or Remove Work Reference from the window as needed.
  4. In this window, click on Add New Row for Resource to duplicate the highlighted row.

Mobile

The Resource Usage Matrix can be accessed via the SYNCHRO Perform Mobile app. However, this is currently only available on iPad, not mobile phones or Android tablets. Also, the device must be online to access the Matrix.

  1. Select Time & Usage > Usage Matrix (online).
  2. A page will open noting that an internet connection is required; if the device has internet access,  select Open Usage Matrix.
  3. The device will open the Resource Usage Matrix; the Matrix can then be used as it would on a  desktop browser.
