To fully harness Bentley's suite of applications and services, users must integrate with the Identity Management System (IMS). Importantly, each SYNCHRO Perform project requires a connection to its associated SYNCHRO Control project. As project administrators, it's essential to create the SYNCHRO Control Project and establish these connections to unlock the following benefits:

1. Unified Services and Features: Linking projects enables users to access shared services and features seamlessly across the entire SYNCHRO ecosystem. Including building Custom Forms in SYNCHRO Field, etc.

2. Enhanced Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC): In the pipeline are significant improvements to RBAC. This will provide more granular permissions, allowing users to view specific aspects of Perform, make alterations, and gain deeper permissions across SYNCHRO Control.

3. Precision in Subscription Reporting: Accurately track and report user subscriptions on a quarterly basis. This is especially pivotal when determining numbers and entitlements associated with the diverse products within SYNCHRO.

Remember, SYNCHRO Control comes bundled with your SYNCHRO Perform subscription. Should you encounter any uncertainties or challenges, please consult your Bentley Account Manager for guidance.

Pre-requisities

• This will become a mandatory requirement shortly as we look to complete SYNCHRO Perform integration with SYNCHRO as a whole.
• A valid and current SYNCHRO Perform Account with a role of project_config or system_admin - Link
• A valid and current Fulfilment Contact with a Bentley IMS Account with additional Bentley co-administrators - Link
• Find your Bentley account administrator - Link
• The requester / SYNCHRO Perform Administrator needs to have a Bentley IMS Account linked with SYNCHRO Perform - Link
• The ability to Register a Project in SYNCHRO Control - Link
• Please review the User Management Portal Documentation for Bentley IMS accounts - Link
• Ensure the person linking the project using SYNCHRO Link within the SYNCHRO Perform Settings has been explicitly added to the corresponding SYNCHRO Control Project - IMPORTANT

Troubleshooting

• No Bentley IMS account - if you have not created a Bentley IMS account, please follow the steps outlined here.
• Can't raise a Customer Service Request - if the Customer Service Portal does not allow the user to raise a service ticket, then please ensure the Fulfillment Contact within your company has designated you an appropriate Administrator account (within Bentley, not just SYNCHRO Perform).
• "Bentley Systems account does not have access to any SYNCHRO Perform Projects" - If using the "Sign in with Bentley account" button on SYNCHRO Perform returns an error about project access, please ensure you follow the steps outlined here and ensure your account(s) are linked appropriately.

Note: 

• Do not select "Register a trial project", as this will expire after 30 days. Refer to this for more information about Trial Projects
• Connecting your SYNCHRO Perform project to SYNCHRO Control, does not mean that data is shared between these systems. This integration is under development.

1) Login to SYNCHRO Control via https://construction.bentley.com, You should be able to see a "Register a project" button. Click this. If you cannot see Register a Project, then you will need to have your permissions elevated within Bentley. Please refer to your administrator for assistance; if you don't know who your administrator is, more information can be found here.

2) Fill out the details, including where you want project data to be stored.

3) Once complete, the project should be available for users to view and utilise all features within Control.

4) Ensure you are using IMS/Bentley SSO to link projects, making sure you select the project you want to link between Perform and Control.

5) From the Home Page, navigate to the Settings (ensuring you have appropriate admin permissions within Perform and Control)

6) Under Settings > SYNCHRO Project Link > Link your SYNCHRO Project

7) You should see your project from a list available within SYNCHRO Control. Select it and press "Link"

8) Validate that the project is linked correctly, by following the link next to the Globe Icon.
