Problem:

How to remove Cad Length from AutoPIPE Model?

Solution:

Displays the flange CAD length imported from the PXF / PCF / CII files. The value of this field is maintained and exported to PXF/PCF files. This information is only displayed for models that were created by importing PXF / PCF / CII files. The cad length information is read-only at all times. For mating flanges in models imported from PXF/PCF files, gasket thickness will added to one of the mating flanges so CAD length for that flange will be: flange length + gasket thickness, and for other flange it will flange length only.

At times it may be necessary to remove all gasket width and cad length from the model. How can this be done?

Option #1: If model was imported from PXF file, then re-import the PXF file and set "RETAIN FLANGE LENGTH" = N in the CADAP.MAP file.

Option #2: If the model was imported as a PCF or CII file, the respective translator would have converted these files into an NTL file format that AutoPIPE would then process into an DAT file format.

a. Open the NTL file found the same folder as the PCF  / CII file

b. Search for all occurrences of  "FLA"

(see AutoPIPE help for complete details on the "FLA - Pipe Flange" batch input reference card), From help find that on the third row of this card, FLGLEN is the CAD length placeholder

c. Remove all cad length data from all the FLA cards in the file.

Option #3: If the model was already converted to DAT, remove all cad length data by Round Triping the model (see wiki here for procedure)
