06 - Pole Assessment

The purpose of the Pole Assessment workflow is to track pole loading and pole inspection projects that occur outside of any other standard workflow process. This workflow interacts with the Design Storage component of SPIDAstudio to leverage past designs and store new ones for future use.

Create Project – Pole Owner

In the Manager tab, locate and select the stations you wish to include in your project using one of Map View’s selection methods.

When the desired stations have been selected, click the green Create New Project button in the Sidebar.

In the Workflow dropdown that appears, choose Pole Assessment and click Selected Stations.

In the Enter Project Details dialog, name the project and click Create.

Assessment in Progress – Pole Owner

After creation, the project is in the status “Assessment in Progress”.

In Detail View, download the SPIDAcalc exchange file that was automatically generated by SPIDAstudio and perform the assessment in SPIDAcalc. Poles may already contain data if any of the project’s poles had been assessed and pushed to SPIDAstudio in the past.

When the assessment is complete, export a new SPIDAcalc exchange file with the same name and upload the file to the “Pole Assessment” project form in SPIDAstudio. When the project advances, this file will be added as an updated version of the original exchange file in the project’s Files section. In the same form, select a user to perform QC on your assessment or select “No QC Required” if you wish to bypass the QC steps.

If the desired user is not listed in the dropdown, ensure that they are a SPIDAstudio user and are included in the “Pole Assessment QC” user group with your account admin.

When complete, advance the project status to “Assessment QC” to assign the QC assignee or to “Assessment Complete” to close the project and push the new SPIDAcalc data to SPIDAstudio.

Assessment QC – Pole Owner

The user selected in the “Pole Assessment” form is assigned when the project enters this status. Download the SPIDAcalc exchange file from the project’s Files section and review the assessment in SPIDAcalc.

Provide any necessary feedback in the project- or pole-level Remarks sections using the @Mention feature to send an email notification to the mentioned user. Alternatively, the QC user may make changes directly in SPIDAcalc and upload a new SPIDAcalc exchange file to the project’s files section.

When complete, advance the project status to “Pole Assessment QC Complete”.

Pole Assessment QC Complete – Pole Owner

The project Creator is assigned in the status “Pole Assessment QC Complete”. Review any feedback provided by the QC assignee, and perform corrections as needed. After corrections are completed, upload a new corrected exchange file to the project’s Files section with the same file name as the previous exchange files.

From this status, you may return the project for an additional round of QC by advancing the project status to “Assessment QC” or close the project by advancing the project status to “Assessment Complete”.

Assessment Complete

When the pole assessment is finalized, the project is advanced to “Assessment Complete”. The new SPIDAcalc data is automatically pushed to SPIDAstudio, and the project enters the status “Finish”.
