What should be done?
There are many suggestions and recommendations about using AutoPIPE but none are as important as this issue and the button pressed next on the dialog:
Selecting “Yes” button WILL corrupt the model the very moment the model is displayed on the screen. There is no fixing a corrupted model.
Selecting “No” button will close the model without opening (Highly suggested)
Note: only exception is that opening a model from a version that has the exact same first 4 digits in the version number (ex. opening a model from 09.06.01.11 in version 09.06.01.10)
Breakdown of numbers: ex. v. 09.06.02.06
09 - Major enhancement release number
06 - Minor enhancement release number
02 - Correction release number, aka Maintenance number
06 - Build iteration number
Selecting “Cancel” button stops the open command.
See more rules about AutoPIPE for all user skill levels here (specifically #2:)
Strongly recommend when this dialog appears to press "No" or "Cancel", reopen the model in the version of AutoPIPE referenced on the dialog as the "Newer Version" (ex. 09.06.02.06). With the model open use the following Commands: File> Save As> select the version of the application with which to open the model in:
The application will ask to save the file name with selected version appended to the end of the name (ex. Walkthru_V94.DAT).
Again, only If both version of the application have the exact same Major and Minor enhancement release numbers (ex. 09.06), only then should one consider pressing the OK button with out worrying about any adverse affects of opening a model created by a new version in an older version with out using the File > Save As process above
