The following appears when importing / opening a model in AutoPIPE:
---------------------------
Note
---------------------------
N102-10: This is a junction - please specify segment
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
why and how to avoid it?
First of all this is a note message, as such it is not an Error or something bad, just a reminder to the user that " This is a junction - please specify segment".
Per the image above, this is a model of suction piping (segment A) and discharge piping (segment B) attached to a Pump (segment C).
Pump to piping connection a A00, is a node point shared by 2 segments A and C. The program needs to be sure which side of the node point to use for the Rotating Equipment calculations. Therefore, specify suction piping side of node point or Segment A.
Conversely,, Discharge point shall be D05, and Segment to be used for Rotating Equipment calculations will be the pipe side of that node point or Segment D.
