Default Code and Non-Code Combinations in an AutoPIPE model

Problem:

How are AutoPIPE's default Code and Non-code combinations controlled?

What settings, and their locations, affect the default code combinations that are created?

Give the following, load cases - GR, T1-T3, P1-P3, U1 - U3, E1-E3, can AutoPIPE automatically create every possible variation of of combinations or mus they be manually created?

Solution:

 Assuming Non-linear Analysis, for each Analysis Set ( Load> Static Analysis Load Set) the user must specify which loads are going to be analyzed:

Confirm Default Sequence is enabled and that the "Intial case for Occ loads" is set to GR. Press OK to continue

After the load have been defined, use the following settings to control what Default Code and Non-Code Combinations are automatically created by the program:

Location: Tools> Model Options> Results>

a. No. of thermal ranges

b. Include Max Range comb

Press OK to continue.

Run the Analysis, and open the combination dialog screen, Tools> Combinations> Select the  "Combinations Options" button, 

Ensure the following settings are checked On:

a. Add Default Non-Code Combinations

Ensure the following settings are checked OFF:

a. Disable Auto Code Combinations

b. Disable Auto Non-Code Combinations

Perform the following:

a. Select the Code Comb tab

b. Press the Reset Defaults Only button

c. Select the Non-Code Comb tab

d. Again, press the Reset Defaults Only button

e. review the automatic generated combinations
