How to create an ASCII Spectrum File?
Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Command Reference> Load Commands> Response/Force Spectrum Loads> see hyperlink near the bottom of the page "Creating an ASCII Spectrum File".
Note:
1. that the actual data in this file is entered using English units and is correctly converted to the correct units when the dialog is opened.
2. Best method to correctly format an ASCII file is to first open a model in AutoPIPE and using the Load> "Response/Force Spectrum Loads" command enter the data into the dialog as needed and press OK button to automatically create the *.SPC file in the same folder as the model. Locate the *.SPC file, and opened with any word processing application (i.e. NotePad ++, Ultra Edit, MS Word), notice the correct formatting and values. Adjust the file as needed but maintain the exact formatting structure. Save the file, and use in AutoPIPE as needed.
