How does AutoPIPE analyze the deadweight?
Does AutoPIPE use a consistent mass formulation?
I specifically need to know if the deadweight is affected by the node spacing or not?
Recommend to test this for yourself. Create a simple model with 1 segment 100 ft long, anchored at one end. Find the weight of the pipe with Tool> Model Input Listing> Center of Gravity report, see example below:
Modify the pipe run to include 99 node points, and re-check the pipe weight:
The Results are both the same. therefore the number of node points does not change the system weight, providing the piping arrangement has not been changed.
