The program does not seem to be using the correct SIF for an elbow, why?
SIF's are calculated based on selected Piping code.
Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Reference Information> Code Compliance Calculations> select a piping code (ex. B31.3 2016)> select SIF page where applicable.
Things that may affect the output reported value:
1. Model Result Options settings enabled / disabled:
example:
Set SUS SIF =1 no bends
Single SIF at point
Set Sus/Occ SIF = 1
Set Sus/Occ = 0.75i
2. "Override all other SIFs at this point" was enabled
See AutoPIPE online help for Insert/Modify XtraData> Joint Type and User SIF> "Override all other SIFs at this point"
3. Highest SIF at the node point.
The program is able to enter more than a single SIF at a node point, the program will only use / report the highest SIF value unless "Override all other SIFs at this point" has been enabled.
