Problem:

Adding a new enforce strong Password protection policy to all our Application. Confirm whether the strong Password protection policy can be Implemented for AutoPIPE with no affect to the program functionality?.

Solution:

Bentley does not understand how strong password protection policy will impact AutoPIPE or for that effect any program. To us it is an IT team enforced guideline for domain users to create strong password. We have not seen any issues with AutoPIPE since we have moved to a strong password protection policy for our own systems. Therefore, we are not entirely sure if there will be any impact.

Feel free to use any kind of password protection to start using the program but know that AutoPIPE users must have read/write permissions to the following folder and sub folders (folder structure based on AutoPIPE CONNECT v11.02.00.10):

1. Location where AutoPIPE model are stored.

2. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\AutoPIPE CONNECT v11\

3. C:\ProgramData\Bentley\AutoPIPE CONNECT v11\

4. C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\AutoPIPE CONNECT v11

If not, the application will not function as designed.

Note: These folders name may change with new versions of the application installed and if needed, updated in your password protection implementation.
