Does friction affect SAM analysis results in AutoPIPE?
In short, No.
Seismic movements are entered as imposed displacements at a point(s) during the model generation. In a seismic anchor movement analysis, AutoPIPE assumes all gaps to be closed. Without gaps there would be no pipe movement in the direction of the support restraint where friction coefficients would have been applied.
The following enhancement has been logged, Enhancement 806869:Add feature to consider support gap settings during SAM analysis. This will appear in a future version of the application.
