This help has been provided in order to give users ideas for modeling typical piping arrangements. The steps shown in each example should not be taken as the only method available to create models. In addition, the intent of the examples is to present ways to create adequate models of specific piping components for analytical purposes.

Question:
On the rotating dialog screen what is meant by Reference point and Dx, Dy, Dz values?
Answer:
From the online help:
Specify the global offset values DX, DY, and DZ from the reference point to define the location of the center point of the pump. Since AutoPIPE cannot display a point for the center of the pump, the pump center is defined relative to the suction nozzle or discharge nozzle.

I have introduced a pump at the delivery point , but I cannot see nor numerically or graphically that effectively the pump is inserted (sent you the return model, in this case there is no pump)
Answer:
Correct, there is no Pump / Compressor equipment element to be displayed in the AutoPIPE model. The Rotating Equipment module performs additional calculations on the the piping geometry and loads already modeled and provided the results of these extra calculations in the output report.
Again, no Pump / Compressor element will be displayed in the model.

How do we check the pipe loads on pump Suction & Discharge piping?
Answer:
First we should model the Hot Pump as RIGID Pipe (shown as purple in image below) which Heats up and Expands
We can use either Reference points and/or User equipment to check the pump loads
Reference Points are Defined at the Suction & Discharge nozzles
In this example we have a special manufacturer pump with allowable loads defined in User Rotating equipment
The rotating equipment report checks all load combinations and reports nozzle loads. In this example the loads exceed the recommended allowables and FAIL is placed to the right of failed value in the report, as indicated in red below.
