Problem:
The following message appears when entering the design temperature:

---------------------------
Warning
---------------------------
Error opening RecordSet with SQL
Select * from A2000A
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
How to avoid this from happening?
Solution:
The message provides a clue to the problem encountered. "Error in opening RecordSet"... is hinting to an issue with opening a database file that contains various records. The only database files used in AutoPIPE Nozzle are related to Material files. Therefore, there is an issue with one or more of the 4 material database files installed by AutoPIPE Nozzle. Also, if there is a user defined material database file, the specific file may be missing or corrupted.
In addition with the error message, it was noted that the vessel nozzle image was missing:

This issue has only been reported one time and was directly related to a missing file(s) from the installation folder and computer permissions at the time when the software was installed.
Avoidance:
-
- User must have AutoPIPE Advance or AutoPIPE Nuclear Licensing available.
- Delete existing exported PXF from AutoPIPE.
- Uninstalled AutoPIPE and AutoPIPE Nozzle from the computer.
- Reboot the computer,
- Log into the computer with Administrative permissions (must have Admin role).
- Install old AutoPIPE - AutoPIPE Nozzle - New AutoPIPE software as mentioned here.

- Verify the following 4 files are present:
- khkmatlib.mdb
- jismatlib.mdb
- asme2009.mdb
- asme2000.mdb
- Note: Copy any user generated material libraries to this folder
- If not, ask co-worker / Technical Support to provide these files.
- Copy the files to the folder mentioned above.
- Again, Reboot the computer.
- Exporting nozzle loads from AutoPIPE to AutoPIPE Nozzle again.
- The problem should now be fixed.

- Does the reported error message "Error opening RecordSet" appear?
- If yes, stop. Obviously, there is a fundamental difference between your system and standard installation. One additional consideration would be localized / regional settings. Please confirm the following localized settings.
-
-
- Open your Regional / localized Number format and set the Decimal setting to “Period”
- Search internet for specific commands to use when setting the Decimal symbol on your computer.
- It is difficult to know if using "." (period) or using "," (comma) therefore, suggest using Window's Magnifier command to confirm setting.
- To quickly turn ON Magnifier, press the Windows logo key + Plus sign (+) .
To turn OFF Magnifier, press the Windows logo key + Esc .
- Repeat Step #6 above.
- If after repeating step #6 the same issue occurs. Please inform me.
- Remember, turn Virus protection back on and person with Administrative rights can clog out.

- Does the reported error message appear?
- If yes, stop. Again, there is a fundamental difference between your system and standard installation. At this point the only option is to log exactly what your computer is trying to access by investigating all background process. Use an application like WinDBG application to log all process when using AutoPIPE Nozzle to the point where the error occurs and send the log file to AutoPIPE technical support for review. .
-
-
- Please see instructions here to generate a WinDBG log file of you starting AutoPIPE Nozzle to the point where the error message appears, at which point stop Windbg, save log file.
