Problem:

Why is there no sustain Code combination with Gravity, Pressure, and Temperature in AutoPIPE?

Solution:

The CAE development team thoroughly reviews each code to determine how the Sustain stress should be calculated. To review their interpretations open the Load Combination dialog, selecting the combination where Category = Sustain (ex. GR+Max P)  and pressing the Modify button:

Most codes consider Gravity and Pressure as a Primary stress, but Temperature as a secondary stress. Therefore, most code requirements for sustained loads would only be Gravity + Pressure, temperature is not part of a code requirement.

Users do have the ability to create any number of additional User combinations at their discretion, including one that consider thermal in the Sustained combination. See WIKI here for procedure to create a new user Code combination.
