Bentley® AutoPIPE Nozzle is a stand-alone, engineering application used for calculating local stresses at nozzle/vessel junctions, trunnion attachment points, clip connections and lug attachments on the vessel shell. Based on well-known engineering design standards like WRC, KHK, API and PD, AutoPIPE Nozzle helps engineers and designers quickly determine whether or not the wall of a pressure vessel, exchanger or tank can withstand piping loads on the nozzle or at clip and lug connections.

Program Features

The standard configuration of program includes these features:

Internationally recognized design codes: WRC 107, WRC 297, BS PD5500, API 650 and KHK 1 & 2

Extensive material libraries for ASME VIII Div I, Div II and PD5500, 1998 ASME VIII code case 2290, 2000 ASME I, III & IV, ASME 2009 VIII Div 1, VIII Div 2 & Sect III, PD5500/enquiry case 91, ASME materials to the PD5500, JIS, KHK

JIS and DIN pipe property library

Shell types: cylindrical, conical, spherical, semielliptical, and torispherical

Nozzle attachment types: hollow or solid round, hollow or solid rectangular

Shell deflections, rotations and stiffness values are calculated for all shell types per PD5500 Annex G for longitudinal, circumferential and radial loadings

For ASME Design Codes following code years are available:

ASME Div 1:

• < 2001

• >= 2001 3S

• >= 2001 2Fy (No Creep)

ASME Div 2:

• < 2001 (No Creep)

• 2001 < 2007 (No Creep)

Before you install any software, you should confirm that you have adequate hardware and software capabilities to install and use the product.

Product Download and Installation

AutoPIPE Nozzle is distributed as part of AutoPIPE program. Please refer to product download and installation section of the AutoPIPE readme file.

Network Considerations

Network drives are not supported for the software and data files.

AutoPIPE Nozzle software must be installed on a local client workstation.

AutoPIPE Nozzle data files (*.NOZ) must have full read/write access and can only be accessed from a local client workstation.

Bentley SELECT Server Licensing

AutoPIPE Nozzle will be licensed based on availability of either AutoPIPE Advanced or AutoPIPE Nuclear license. For more details on AutoPIPE licensing refer to AutoPIPE readme file or AutoPIPE online help.

AutoPIPE Nozzle Quick Start guide is a PDF which can be browsed, searched, or printed with the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

New Features In AutoPIPE Nozzle V8i

Following is a list of new features in the Bentley AutoPIPE Nozzle V8i:

• AutoPIPE Nozzle ASME Code 2007 and database updates

• Update KHK code to 2006

• Update KHK material library to 2003

• Update JIS material library in JIS B 8265

• Average membrane and M+B allowables forDiv 2 allowable

• Filter material list according to selected design code

• Provide a check box to include or exclude the 1.2 increase factor for occasional loads

• Provide a check box to use averaged or non-averaged values for calculation of stress allowables e.g. evaluating cyclic loads for fatigue.

• Include different nozzle attachment types

• Allow importing loads from AutoPIPE v9.1

• Change apnozzle.map file format to CSV to support long filenames

• Consolidate AutoPIPE Nozzle design code licenses into one license
