Problem:

Can the "Distance L/D from flange/valve to bend" setting be turned OFF in an AutoPIPE model?

Solution:

No.

This setting cannot be turned on an off. From the AutoPIPE help:

Enter the (L/D) value to be used in determining the distance the program will search for valves or flanges near bend points (near or far).

The smallest number to be used is 0.00, and therefore will account for any flange / valve directly on the bend's Near or Far points. However, if the flange / valve was moved a very short distance away then it would be beyond the of L/d ratio setting specified and not consider it in the SIF calculation.
