Problem:

What options are available to insert / override a code calculated SIF in AutoPIPE?

Solution:

 See the following options available:

Option #1: change value on individual dialog screens

A. Tee components

At the bottom of the dialog, select the drop down for "Type of Tee" and select "OTHER"

Depending on the piping code selected one or more fields will automatically appear where the user can override the calculated SIF values. 

B. Flange components

Change "Joint End Type" to "User Defined" and enter Joint SIF values as needed.

C. Valve components

Change "Joint End Type" to "User Defined" and enter Joint SIF values as needed.

 

D. Flexible Joint components

Change "Joint End Type" to "User Defined" and enter Joint SIF values as needed.

Note: for all other component (Run, Bend, Nozzle, Reducer, etc..) or connections use one of the other options below.

Option #2: Insert / over-ride SIF" values with input grids

Select an input grid tab for a component (ex. Tee). Set Type = Other / User Define, enter values as needed in columns not grayed out, as shown below:


Option #3: Insert / over-ride SIF" values with "Joint Type & User SIF" command

Using AutoPIPE CONNECT 11.xx and higher:

Insert Ribbon> Xtra Data Group> 

Press Help button on the dialog to get detailed information about setting options available.

Using AutoPIPE CONNECT 10.xx and lower:

Insert > Xtra Data > Joint Type & User SIF
