When modeling a flange at the same exact point as an anchor,
Does the rotating equipment equations take into consideration the total of the forces/moments + restraint (anchor) or just the value from the Forces & moments report?
Rotating Equipment nozzle loads are determined from the pipe and not the anchor/support. So, if the flange weight is a load that acts on the nozzle, and/or the user plans to run a Rotating Equipment analysis then the user is advised to model the single point flange a short distance away from the anchor.
The development team does not see this as a mistake in the program but a modeling issue that is corrected by correctly modeling the flange weight in the correct location. This should not be an issue after CAE-CR-941 (Add Two Point Flange) has been added to the program.
