When reviewing the Results grids Support tab for Rotational supports there is no moment column only Forces columns. Why is there not a moment column on the support tab of the results grid in AutoPIPE?
Some columns in AutoPIPE's results grids perform double duty or utilize the same column for various functions, such as Support grids, where the Fx column for rotational support list results are represented as moments, while results for all other supports represent forces.
The development team decided against using two separate columns—one for force and another for moment—since this would result in numerous blank entries within the grids. As of AutoPIPE 2025, the column title does not indicate its dual functionality. The grids are designed to permit only a single unit label, such as force or moment, for each column. A new feature request has been submitted under TFS-133922 / CAE-CR-7440, aiming to display both labels and units for the column, for instance, translation (rotation), lbs (ft-lbs); however, users will still need to consult the support type for accurate interpretation.
Note: The units for moments values in the results grid Force column are the same as found in the Forces and Moment output report.
