When reviewing the Results grids Support tab for Rotational supports there is no moment column only Forces columns. Why is there not a moment column on the support tab of the results grid in AutoPIPE?
The force or moment reported for a support are mutually exclusive AutoPIPE results grids double used the same column to one or the other depending on the support type, e.g. rotational support for moment and force for all others. We didn't want to use two columns, one for force and one for moment as this would leave a lot of blank values in the grids. At this time, the column title does not reflect the double usage. The grids are programmed to only allow one unit label, e.g. force or moment, for the column.
A new enhancement has been logged under TFS-133922 / CAE-CR-7440. This proposes to show both labels and units somehow for the column, e.g. translation (rotation), lbs (ft-lbs), but the user will still need to refer to the support type to make the proper interpretation.
Note: The units for moments values in the results grid Force column are the same as found in the Forces and Moment output report.
