Problem:

When I see the corresponding Anchors in the NTL file, I have

Scenario #1:

Scenario #2:

As you can see, there is an additional column for TAG2 which holds the point name while there is none for TAG1. I see this difference for other anchors as well.

Can you please tell me the conditions under which the point name column would appear in the NTL file for Anchors?

Answer:

Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:

Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Bentley AutoPIPE> Batch Input Reference> Command Card Reference> ANC - Anchor> Point information.

There is detailed explanation when Point column is blank or contains data.

Also see the SEG - Pipe Segment card information.

Take a closer look at the 2 reference screen shots above, note that the anchor in scenario #1, is located in the middle of the segment. Where the anchor in scenario #2, the anchor is located at the beginning of  the segment.

The Segment card will contain the name of the node point where the segment starts. Since the anchor is the first component, it already know the node name and therefore the anchor card does not need to repeat the information. however in scenario #1, the anchor is located in the middle of the segment and needs to be identified with a node point name.
